The Sacrament of Baptism is one of the seven Sacraments instituted by God and administered by His Church. It is the first Sacrament we receive and is the celebration of giving new life in Christ and becoming a member of God’s family, the Church.

As parents, we accept the responsibility of guiding our children in the life and practice of the Catholic faith, to keep God’s commandments as Christ taught us, by loving God and neighbour through word and example.

Baptisms are celebrated in St Michael’s Parish on the First and Third Sunday of the month or by appointment with a priest.

Parent/s are required to attend a Baptism Preparation Session before booking a date for the baptism. These are held on the second Sunday of each month. Parents are invited to attend the 10:45am Sunday Mass at St Michael’s Church, and then remain for the baptism preparation session.

Please contact the parish office (4423 1712) to organise your child’s baptism, following attendance at the baptism preparation.
